Two Ways to Save Postage Dollars

The success of the 2011 Mobile Bar Code Promotion by the United States Postal Service has generated greater interest in the use of mobile technologies in direct mail.

As a result, the 2012 Mobile Commerce and Personalization Promotion has been approved to provide mailers with an upfront postage discount on qualifying Standard Mail® letters, flats and cards that contain a mobile barcode or similar print technology, which can be read or scanned by a mobile device.

Also, the USPS has rolled out the "2nd Ounce Free" promotion where presorted First-Class letters weighing up to 2 ounces mail at the 1-ounce postage rate.
