USPS Mobile Barcode Promotion Poised to Return

After a highly successful inaugural run last year, the United States Postal Service has proposed to again offer a discount for mailings that feature a 2 dimensional barcode.  More information may be found here:  USPS to propose repeat mobile barcode promo.

The 2011 Mobile Barcode promotion offered a 3% discount on postage for qualifying Standard and First-Class mail letters, flats and cards.  Many mailers took this opportunity to incorporate a quick response (or QR code) barcode to drive the mail recipient to a website or video.

The Pinnacle Print Award is given out by the Printing Industry of Illinois/Indiana Association (PII) to recognize companies producing the best in print media. Award categories include Single Promotion Self-Mailer, Magazine Inserts and Brochures. Along with 2 best of category awards, Lehigh Direct also won 4 Awards of Excellence.

Lehigh Direct was recognized at the Ninth Annual Printing Industry of Illinois/Indiana Association (PII) Pinnacle Print Awards Gala.

Fueling creativity and innovation is a corporate credo at Lehigh Direct, so when employees had an idea for donating residual end rolls or “spool” to local school art departments, it’s no surprise that the pilot program immediately received a green light.”Spools for Schools” offers paper remnants from in-line production, as well as the core on which the paper is spooled, to area schools. There will be no cost to the schools, and all that Lehigh asks is that appropriate arrangements are made for pick up of the roll (they typically measure 38” x 6” and can weigh 20 or more pounds) and that the schools properly dispose of or re-cycle the cores with any remaining paper.
