USPS Mobile Barcode Promotion Poised to Return

After a highly successful inaugural run last year, the United States Postal Service has proposed to again offer a discount for mailings that feature a 2 dimensional barcode. More information may be found here: USPS to propose repeat mobile barcode promo.
The 2011 Mobile Barcode promotion offered a 3% discount on postage for qualifying Standard and First-Class mail letters, flats and cards. Many mailers took this opportunity to incorporate a quick response (or QR code) barcode to drive the mail recipient to a website or video. The specific details for the 2012 version of the promotion have not been released; the proposal will be presented to the USPS's board of governors on Feb. 8 for its approval.
