Solutions For A Greener Tomorrow

Clean Earth

Our sensitivity to the overall environmental impact grows with each program we produce and each mail piece we create, which is why we are continually working to develop more environmentally sensitive methods of producing programs through the use of recycled paper to being a member of the Forest Stewardship Council that promotes responsible management of the world’s forests.

At Lehigh Direct we use soy-based inks as well as water-soluble glues. We also have taken the extra step of working to incorporate the use of planting seeds into our mail programs. Ask your sales representative about our seed card or how you can utilize seeds in your next mail piece.

Spools for Schools

Spools For Schools

Fueling creativity and innovation is a corporate credo at Lehigh Direct, so when employees had an idea for donating residual end rolls or "spools" to local school art departments, it’s no surprise that the pilot program immediately received a green light. "Spools for Schools" offers paper remnants from in-line production, as well as the core on which the paper is spooled, to area schools free-of-charge. Lehigh’s only request is that appropriate arrangements are made for pick up of the spools (they typically measure 38" x 6" and can weigh 20 or more pounds), and that the schools properly dispose of or re-cycle the cores along with any remaining paper. This usage and recycling effort unites Lehigh’s environmental initiatives with the community, and promotes the means of providing some of the necessary materials to aspiring young artists in neighboring school districts who may be operating under constrained budgets. When Lehigh “rolled out” the Spools for Schools program, many children were delighted to create murals that wrapped around the perimeter of their classroom, tracing silhouettes of eachother on a grand scale. As the students completed the mural, not only could they admire the artistic talents of their classmates, but also take pride in the teamwork that they displayed to create a collective masterpiece!
