A Message From Bob Hackett
Thursday, November 12, 2009
The holidays of 2009 are already upon us and we prepare to close out the year 2009, and may I say good riddance. It has been a challenging year for all of us as the economy certainly has created challenges for all of us.
I am pleased to say that both Lehigh and Dixon Direct, while challenged like everyone else in this market, have done an exceptional job in a very tough environment. While the market price for many of the products we produce everyday has eroded, the strong commitment from our people to deliver value across the board has not. This can certainly be measured in our level of customer care, our attention to quality, commitment to the environment, continued advancement in new technology as well as the innovative new format ideas that continue to drive value for all of us. When it comes to our customer commitment, 2009 was a year of tremendous growth.
The news from the U.S. Postal Service of no rate hike in 2010 is certainly welcome news for all of us. The new postal regulations for self mailers have been challenging for some as the Postal Service works through some issues, but the Lehigh Direct Postal experts headed by Tom Sagenbrecht have done a great job in working with our clients and our Product Development group in concert with the U.S. Postal Service to insure flawless execution for the many programs running through both of our facilities every day.
One of the great benefits of working through difficult times is that it forces change. With change comes opportunity. We have had the opportunity to look at things differently than we have in the past. Ask yourself the questions are there better ways to accomplish certain tasks? Without a doubt we have developed new and better ways to achieve some of our end goals. Through this we are creating additional value for our clients.
I look forward to 2010. I know it will bring its own set of challenges as the market attempts to gain back the vigor it once possessed. I know that many of our old friends will now be looking at us from new homes due to the challenges of 2009, and I understand that Lehigh and Dixon Direct are positioned better than ever before to serve our clients old and new with even a higher level of service and attention to quality and innovation than ever before.
Thanks to all of you for your continued support of Lehigh and Dixon Direct in 2009 and may this upcoming Holiday season be filled with joy and happiness for everyone.
Regards,
Bob Hackett
